A Month in Block Island

Working far from home is an experience. My friend Jordan and I both got hired to work at The National Hotel in Block Island, Rhode Island (or New Shoreham, Rhode Island). Jordan works as part of the kitchen staff and I'm handling the front desk of the hotel. Is a neat little duo set we are rocking, can't lie.
The atmosphere here in Block Island is wildly different than that of Connecticut, or even that of Meriden to be more precise. The fact that I could walk around in the middle of the night and not worry about getting in trouble or at worst assaulted is insane! The people here are also pretty cool! The front desk staff (since is the one I work with the most) are some of the most chill people I've met. Josiel is a digital and social media pro with a huge interest in the hospitality and hotel business. Grace and Kelly are both pretty cute and pretty nice girls. While complete opposites of each other, they seem to get along a decent amount. Deanna and Jullie, both of who are my managers, are fairly friendly and very nice to talk to if I ever have a problem or even messed up.
At the start of the month; Jordan, Kelly, and I decided to walk to one of the lighthouses on Block Island. Well... to be fair, I kinda asked if Kelly would have been down for my and Jordan's sake. Regardless though, it seems to have gone well. I personally enjoyed it and I haven't heard Kelly gets upset by it so I think that's a win! The place itself looked pretty cool. Did you know that Block Island Wind Farm is the first commercial offshore wind farm in the United States? Is kind of wild.
We also went down to the Mohegan Bluffs. Personally, screw those stairs! Way too many. But to be fair, the beach as a reward was pretty nice. Guess I have to get back into shape.
Well, that was month one. I'll try to update and post more frequently. Hopefully, my job and internship both let me do this more often.
