One thing I started to do was branch out into other forms of photography besides nature photography. One of them I wanted to tackle was food photography. Thanks to Josiel buying a lightbox, we were able to test out and practice food photography.
It was a decent start. I have no actual professional experience with food photography, but with the little I learned online, I think it came out well. From left to right we have the Chicken Pomodori, a coffee cup, and a Bistro Salad.
It was okay, but I wanted to do more. I wanted to keep trying and do more shots of different food items. And I did.
Thanks to Josiel, Julie, and the wonderful kitchen staff at the time I was able to photograph the full brunch menu. In order from left to right (top, and then bottom) we have Biscuits and Gravy, Yogurt Parfait, Eggs Benedict, Egg Omelet, Avocado Toasts, and French Toasts. While the selection is small, I do think that the kitchen staff puts as much love and flavor as if it was any main dish.
I personally had the Yogurt Parfait. I'm not a big yogurt fan when it comes to breakfast, but as it was, it was delicious. Personally, it was a bit too much yogurt and not enough different fruits to really blend and give out a full blast of flavors in your mouth, but good enough to stand on its own.
The National Hotel's Tap and Grill is a must-visit to any tourist or Islander that hasn't checked it out. If you are interested in any of their other menu items (say lunch or dinner), check out this link.
